We run a number of services including
We offer 24 hour Blood pressure monitoring and ECG (Heart tracings) and Exercise ECG´s on-site at the practice. If you think you need either of these please speak to your GP.
We have pre-bookable blood test appointments every morning (Mon-Fri) from 7.30 AM at the practice. Please book these via reception.
Dr. Antoni will offer a full range of family planning and contraception advice and services including emergency contraception and the long-acting injectable contraception. We do pill prescriptions if you are up to date with your smear tests.
Vaginal swabs and urine tests or a HIV test are offered after a STD counseling.
At the moment we refer you for all other issues and your smear tests to a Gynaecologist.
At this Practice we will do quarterly check ups for chronic diseases including diabetes, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and coronary heart disease (CHD). It will include a general examination and blood pressure and weight check, a blood test and for asthma and COPD patients a lung function test and check if your medication has to be altered. For diabetic patients a neurological examination of the feet and for CHD patients ECG und exercise ECG checks if necessary and blood tests. As these examinations are lengthy your health insurance wants us to sign a contract with you to promote the 3 monthly check ups and for you to explain that you agree to this service and keep the regular appointments. Studies have shown that these regular appointments will improve your general health and help to you to deal with your chronic illness.
Dr. Antoni had a three year training at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital and will offer advice on complementary medicine. Homeopathic medication can be prescribed on private prescriptions. We can give you advice on which Health insurers will compensate the medication costs. But homeopathic medication is available at very reasonable prices at the Pharmacies. Homeopathic treatment will not be charged.
We offer autohaematotherapy for prophylaxis of recurrent infections. This is a private service you can ask for an information leaflet at the practice or ask one of the Gp´s about the service.
Dr. Löhnert offers short sessions of manual treatment of back pain similar to Osteopathy.
These services fall outside from your health insurance reimbursed treatments. Reception will be able to give you a list of charges and advise you further.
Dr. Antoni and Dr. Löhnert have been trained to give 20 minute intervention sessions to help with anxiety or depression, chronic pain and sleep problems. They will give information if a medication can be helpful and will refer to a psychiatrist or psychologist if necessary.
We offer cardiovascular screening tests and give general check up appointment to all our patients over 35 years to help prevent heart attacks or strokes. You get an appointment offering you blood tests, and ECG, urine and sometimes Haemocult test and a follow-up appointment to review the results.
On these appointments we also offer advice on a wide variety of health topics such as drugs, alcohol, diet, cholesterol, exercise, smoking and weight loss.
Dr. Löhnert offers a skin cancer screening. This can be booked together with a health check or on it’s own. It will include a full body check, examination with the dermatoscope and urgent referral to a dermatologist if a skin biopsy seems necessary.
This is a new service we will offer from 2016. If you’re trying to give up smoking, we can help. Studies show that your chances of success will be greatly improved if you get advice and support from health care professionals to help you stop smoking.

You can book a smoking cessation appointment with one of our GP´s to make a treatment plan and will then see our trained nurse for smoking cessation counseling.
If you need help to stop smoking don’t go it alone, call us. Information about fees and appointments you can discuss with our reception staff.
We offer advice on malaria prophylaxis and travel vaccines. This will be a 20 minute appointment and we have to charge a fee for the health advice and the administration of the travel vaccine. Information about the fees you can get at the reception.
Stitch removal and wound care , is offered as a walk in service after 9.30 am and after 3.30 pm. We also offer wart removal with occluding dressing.

Are you over 50? Are you experiencing a change in bowel habit for 3 weeks or more? Did you know that catching bowel cancer early cures 90% of cases?
Ask at reception when you visit for a bowel health appointment.
About one in 20 people in the UK will develop bowel cancer during their lifetime with the risk increasing with age. If bowel cancer is detected at the earliest stage, there is over a 90% chance of survival and it is one of the most successful cancers to treat.
Symptoms of bowel cancer still include:
Most of the symptoms won’t be bowel cancer, but sometimes it is easy to dismiss or leave them for longer than your should.
If you have any symptoms and if you are over 50, call us and ask for a bowel check at the surgery.
